• A Legacy of Excellence

    It all began in the early ’80s when a group of Coca-Cola bottlers wanted to purchase a key raw material, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) packaging, at a lower cost. They envisioned using technology and innovative processes to enhance and create better packaging. This common thread united the group, and in 1982 Southeastern Container, Inc. (SEC) was founded as a cooperative, allowing the members to purchase products at cost.

Then and Now

Our first plant, which included injection molding and blow molding, opened in 1982 in Enka, NC. Over the years, adding new bottler members resulted in significant growth for our team. Today, we provide preforms and bottles to over 50 Coca-Cola operations in the US and Canada in 34 states and six Canadian provinces, stretching from Quebec to Florida and as far west as Montana. Our dedication to quality and the use of state-of-the-art technology transformed us from a single manufacturing plant into a world leader in the beverage industry.

Southeastern Container is one of the largest PET converters, providing PET bottles, PET preforms, HDPE closures and HDPE pallets for the Coca-Cola bottling system.

Our History:

  • 1982

     

    Enka, NC, our first plant opened for injection molding and blow molding.

  • 1992

     

    The Winchester, VA, plant opened for injection molding and blow molding.

  • 1999

     

    The Bowling Green, OH, facility was added for injection molding and blow molding.

  • 2000

     

    The Cleveland, TN, operation opened as a blow molding plant.

  • 2005

     

    We relocated blow molding from the Enka, NC, facility and opened the Kings Mountain, NC, plant. It created additional blow molding capacity in Kings Mountain and increased space for the expansion of injection molding in Enka.
